Delete Your Mapbound Account

You may request deletion of your Mapbound account and associated personal data at any time, even if you no longer have the app installed.
Delete in the app
When account features are available, open Settings → Account → Delete Account and follow the confirmation steps. Deleting the app from your phone does not by itself delete an account.
Request deletion by email
- Open the prepared email using the button below.
- Send it from the email connected to your Mapbound account.
- Keep the prepared subject line.
- We may ask you to verify account ownership before deletion.
What will be deleted
- Account and profile information
- Visited-state history, colors, XP, levels, and achievements
- Cloud-synced travel photos and positioning information
- Location-verification records associated with the account
- Other personal content associated with the account
What may be retained
Limited purchase, tax, fraud-prevention, security, dispute, or legal records may be retained where required or permitted by law. These records are restricted to the purpose requiring retention.
Processing time
We aim to verify and complete valid deletion requests within 30 days. We will notify you if applicable law requires or permits more time. Account deletion is permanent and may remove progress that cannot be recovered.
Purchases
Deleting an account does not automatically issue a refund or erase transaction records held by Apple or Google. Refund requests are handled under the applicable storefront’s rules. Eligible purchases may remain tied to your storefront account.
Website demo data
The interactive website demo stores map progress and photos in browser storage. You can remove that data immediately by clearing site data for Mapbound in your browser.
